Open WhatsApp, go to the Chats tab and browse for the conversation you want to mute. Tap and hold your finger on the selected entry and WhatsApp shall display a small menu. Tap on View Contact to open the profile page of the selected contact. Go to the Notifications section and toggle Mute on:
Choose for how long you want to mute the conversation (8 hours, 1 Week or 1 Year):
Clear the Show notifications checkbox if you want to hide notifications counts for the selected conversation and then tap on OK.
